Open Shows Galore

We've had some lovely Open Show results recently. We attended Windsor Gundog under Allison Laird. Tuva (H. Ellerstina) won her class and went Best of Breed. This was a lovely surprise, and her first BOB at Open Show level.

At South of England Gundog under Helen Fox (Blacktoft) Tuva won Graduate, and Jive (Clandrift Dirty Dancing at H.) was 3rd in Open. This was a lovely day, great atmosphere, and lots of fun, including baby puppy cuddles !

Continuing the winning streak, Tuva won Post Graduate under Janette Morrissey at Guildford Open Show, Jive was 4th in Open. This was an interesting show, rain, mud, cold and an equestrian barn made for a lively show !

I had the honour of judging the Boston Premier Show at Newark Showground. I had a lovely entry and gave Best of Breed to Lyn Walker's beautiful Gloi Dubh Drumellie JW. I had a fabulous time and was able to cuddle some gorgeous dogs !

The final piece of news is that our newest addition to the family will be arriving in a matter of days. Watch this space for photos and more information !

Happy Birthday !

On the 12th March the Polo puppies (Sune x Jive litter) were 2 years old !! I am so proud of this wonderful litter. I hope they all had a fabulous day with lots of treats !

CRUFTS 2014

We had a most enjoyable day at Crufts. It's always such a long day, but a great time for catching up with friends from UK and overseas. It was no different this year. The bitch judge was Mr Keith Young, and he judged in record time !! First up was Tuva (Harlistream Ellerstina) in a rather large Yearling Bitch class. She showed like a dream, she has matured so much, I am so proud of my little girl. She showed her socks off, and was shortlisted out of 25, but was then unplaced, so so proud of her.

Then our dear friend Yasmina who was over from Switzerland for the show, took Jive in Mid Limit Bitch, she showed her perfectly, and I was so excited that they came 4th !

That's it for another year, such a fabulous show, saw so many friends, and we look forward to next year !

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

Sorry for the lack of posts, it's been a busy year, my job has been incredibly time consuming, and therefore canine activities have been somewhat scarce. So here is the year in a nutshell !

Harlistream Ellerstina qualified for Crufts 2014 at Paignton Championship show under Pam Lynott (Avening), she also had her eyes tested clear including gonioscopy.

Harlistream Pilara owned and loved by Terry Cowley qualified for Crufts 2014 at URC under Val Orme (Elmstock) and NGA under Terry Hargreaves. We are also proud to announce she has clear eyes including gonioscopy and her hips are 2/2 = 4

Clandrift Dirty Dancing at Harlistream has been consistently in the cards throughout the year, with the highlight being a 2nd in Limit Bitch at Paignton under Pam Lynott.

I somehow managed to fit in a trip to Sweden to see Linda Edberg (Black Mica's) and attend the Hundmassa Show in Stockholm. It was lovely to see all the Swedish flatcoats, in particular Tuva's Black Mica's family and her father Sune. Thank you to Linda and her family for their kind hospitality.

CRUFTS 2013

It certainly has been a busy time recently with one thing and another. A couple of weeks ago we had CRUFTS, which is always an exciting time in the show calender. We were also excited to have some overseas friends visit us for the occasion, one of them being the breeder/owner of Tuva's Sire, Black Mica's That's Enough all the way from Sweden, Tuva wasted no time in "getting to know" Linda !

CRUFTS was attended this year by Jive and Tuva, unfortunately Percy (Harlistream Pilara) came into season ! We also had Madison's children Mac and Atty (Oaksenriver Rimac & Oaksenriver Atico). I was assisted in the showing of the team by our other overseas visitor Yasmina from Switzerland. Yasmina handled Atty in Undergraduate Bitch, and I showed Mac in Undergraduate Dog, but no placings for the Oaksenrivers today. I also showed Tuva (Harlistream Ellerstina) in Puppy bitch, she showed like a dream, but was not in the cards, however her mother Jive (Clandrift Dirty Dancing at Harlistream) was awarded 5th in her Mid Limit Class ... so the celebration Tea was on Jive ! We all had a lovely day, and so the qualifying starts again for next year !

A good start to 2013 !

Two good pieces of news to start 2013 with. Our very own Tuva (Harlistream Ellerstina) had her eyes tested by Ian Mason, at a testing day in West Sussex. Tuva received the all clear, including the gonioscopy. Another piece of good news, Jazz (Harlistream La Dolfina) Tuva's sister, passed her Bronze Good Citizen Award recently. We are very proud that Jazz is such a good citizen .. keep up the good work.

The end to the 2012 show season ....

We had a lovely day at LKA Championship Show today at the N.E.C in Birmingham. Jive and myself made the trip up, as it was the last show of the year, and more importantly the last chance to qualify for Crufts. I was kept busy showing some puppies bred by Lyn Irwin, Hawk was 4th in Minor Puppy Dog and Grace was 4th in Minor Puppy Bitch, well done puppies ! After a break to do some quick shopping and chatting, I was back in the ring in Limit Bitch. This time with my dog, the ever so lovely Miss Jive Bunny, it was a strong class of 14 with 2 absent. Jive showed her little socks off, and to my utter delight was awarded 2nd qualifying her for Crufts, and thus awarding her, her Stud Book Number and Crufts qualification for life! She is the third dog I have owned to be awarded a Stud Book Number, and it feels just as exciting as if it were the first. Thank you Team Pinebank for the support today, and thank you so much to all our well wishers, it means so much. On that note, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
